Genesis 15:6 “And he (Abraham) believed the LORD, and He counted it to him as righteousness.”
Habakkuk 2:4 “But the righteous shall live by his faith”
Romans 1:4 “the righteous shall live by faith”
Galatians 3:11b “the righteous shall live by faith”
Again and again in the scriptures we are told faith is the key to righteousness, but do we truly believe it?
What does it mean to practice the faith we are told about and not build some sort of system, program, list to follow that mistakes “right living” with righteousness? Trust in God. Trust in God, that’s it... do you trust that God has forgiven your past so completely He even has forgotten what you have done? (Jeremiah 31:34, Psalm 103:12). Do you trust that God can supply you with all the power you need today to live a holy life today? (Galatians 5:16-24). Do you trust that God has a plan that will ultimately lead to your perfection and glory? (John14:1-4)
Hebrews 11:6 “and without faith it is impossible to please God, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.”
God exists, and His reward for those who seek Him are; His presence with you in every moment of your day, His forgiveness of your sins, His power for living each day for Him, and your future with Him in perfection. Lean in to Him today, He wants to be the object of your faith because He is worthy, capable, and consistent.
In what ways are you trusting in something other than God to justify your past mistakes?
Is there something that you are trusting in about yourself that keeps you from relying on God’s power to get you through the day or for your to be valued or successful?
What would it look like for you to live by faith for the next 24 hours?
